On the European Youth Chess Championship in Porec, Chroatia, a Ukrainian 8 years girl Veronika Veremyuk won the title in her age group.
Veronika is a four-time champion of Kyiv and a champion of Ukraine. Her competitors had no chances to win, for Veronika was far ahead by scores even in the 8th tour, and in the 9th won golden medal in advance.
There were other Ukrainian contestants as well: in the age group before 10 Alexander Melkorunyanec became the 16th, in the same group Evgeniya Grebenshikova showed good results, leading for some time, but one error deprived her of medal at the end of tournament.
