In a shocking story reported by the Los Angeles Daily News, school children were given a controversial survey that asked questions of a sexual nature. The survey was given as part of a mental health therapist’s research for her doctoral degree. The parents of seven children (13 total have taken the controversial survey) have filed a claim against Palmdale School District of the Antelope Valley, about 50 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles.
The school district halted the survey in January as a result of parents’ complaints. When the survey was stopped, it was discovered that about a half-dozen questions deemed inappropriate prior to giving the survey were left on. Had the inappropriate questions been removed as requested, the survey would probably have continued without controversy.
